Jerry Paul’s review of David’s Tone Pro Capo
OK, so you are a musician, or you would not be reading this. More than likely, you have a box of various capos, all claiming to revolutionize the industry. Yes, some are easier to use than others, but the bottom line is the common aggravation they all share.
You are in the middle of a performance, slap on a capo for the next tune, and immediately must retune because of the inaccurate intonations caused by the pressure of the capo on the string position. They all do it. So, you tend to buy the one that is easiest / fastest to use to not waste any MORE time. If you are a beginner, or have a bad ear, perhaps you do not notice, but if you are deeply concerned about a pure and accurate sound, to embellish your performance, I have found the answer.
David W McClary is an accomplished acoustic musician. He had the same issues as the rest of us and became obsessed with finding a solution to the “impossible”. Upon much experimentation, thought and prayers David finally came up with a viable solution.
Unlike most capos, David’s ”Tone Pro Capo” depresses all of the strings from fret to fret, not just a narrow contact band, which is subject to a crooked placement between the frets, not to mention slipping, misplacement, and the all too familiar finger bump in the middle of the tune.
I can assure you; David’s Tone Pro Capo will cover the entire fret. It will NOT slip, even if you aggressively bump it. I can also assure you that after you tune, the intonation is perfect, and when you remove it, and place it back, even in another key, it REMAINS perfect. I know, this is a bit much to believe, giving the age-old reputations of capos in general, but it is TRUE. FINALLY, a solution has been found.
Such a radical innovation resulted in a radical new look. It is very rugged, attractive and fail proof design. It DOES look to be unnecessarily large at first glance, but after first usage, and DEFINITELY after you experience the improvement and enjoy perfect tuning, you soon realize that such a wonderful new innovation will indeed have a different look. I will never EVER buy another capo. No other capo works like this one. I have one for my banjo and my guitar both. I will not go on stage without it. Problem solved.
